The Department of nuclear medicine was established in the 1970s. It is the earliest nuclear medicine specialty established in Xiamen and one of the earliest nuclear medicine departments in Fujian Province. At present, the nuclear medicine department includes Minnan PET center, ECT room, in vitro analysis room, nuclear medicine clinic and so on. The scale of the subject has entered the advanced ranks in China. There are 6 senior titles, including 1 doctoral tutors and 1 master's degree tutors. The subject leader, Professor Wu Hua, is an expert on the government subsidy of the State Council, deputy director of the nuclear medical equipment and Technology Committee of the China Medical Equipment Association, the executive director of the nuclear medical branch of the China Nuclear Association, the National Committee of the Chinese Association of nuclear medicine, the Deputy director of the Fujian Institute of nuclear medicine and the Chinese Journal of nuclear medicine.
