The Department of nuclear medicine of Tongji Hospital was first established in 1958 (atomic medicine laboratory), and became an independent branch in 1985. At present, it is a comprehensive clinical department which combines radionuclide molecular imaging diagnosis, functional determination, in vitro analysis and detection with nuclide targeting therapy, and medical, teaching and research. It is the doctor and master's degree award point of the Ministry of education, the first national key clinical specialty, the State Key Cultivation subject, the standardized training base for the resident, the provincial nuclear and radiation treatment base.
Clinical medical treatment:
It is the first unit to introduce SPECT and PET in Hubei Province, and is the only unit in Hubei to carry out lung ventilation perfusion imaging. At present, it has the world's most advanced PET/CT 1 and SPECT/CT 3, and 1 ventilatory devices. In the next 3-5 years, 2 PET/CT/, 1 PET/MRI and 2 SPECT/CT will be introduced. The number of cases examined by PET/CT was more than 5000 and SPECT/CT was more than 12000, and the diagnostic accordance rate was high. With advanced cyclotron 1, 4 sets of drug synthesis module system, as well as GE GA generator, with radiopharmaceuticals IV certificate, can independently produce and develop PET imaging agent.
In Hubei, the first characteristic clinic of nuclear medicine was opened in the province. The diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases (including hyperthyroidism, thyroiditis, thyroid cancer, goiter, etc.) and bone metastases were leading in the province, with more than 20000 outpatients in the annual outpatient service.
