The science of nuclear medicine in Dongguan People's Hospital

Dongguan People's Hospital was the first nuclear medicine specialist in 1994. After 20 years of development, it has become a comprehensive discipline with the integration of nuclide diagnosis, nuclide treatment and scientific research teaching. The diagnostic equipment, medical ability and scientific research teaching are all in the advanced level of Southern China. The Department of Nuclear Medicine is equipped with advanced large-scale equipment worth nearly 50 million yuan. The main equipments are Siemens 64-row PET/CT, Philips dual-probe variable angle SPECT/CT and so on.
There are 11 medical and nursing staff in the Department, including 1 deputy chief physicians, 2 attending physicians and 2 Master graduate students. They are all trained in regular nuclear medical treatment, master the latest specialist diagnosis and treatment technology, have rich experience in diagnosis and treatment, and have a skillful, thoughtful and patient care team.
There are more than 40 items of examination and treatment before nuclear medicine. SPECT / CT examination involves various organ and system diseases of the whole body, especially in the diagnosis of thyroid, heart, lung, bone, kidney and other diseases has a unique advantage. PET/CT positron imaging is the most advanced imaging examination in Dongguan. It is especially valuable in identifying the benign and malignant tumor, finding the metastases in the early stage, finding the primary tumor, monitoring the recurrence and metastasis after the treatment of the tumor, and predicting the effect of tumor radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The treatment of iodine 131 after hyperthyroidism and thyroid carcinoma, 32 of phosphorus in skin hemangioma, scar and neurodermatitis, and strontium 89 for multiple metastatic carcinoma of bone are all the routine special medical projects.
The Department is located at the first floor of the medical technology building in the outpatient department of the Wan Jiang hospital. It is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of the general hospital, the Puji hospital and some outpatients and the patients in the outpatient department, and arranges the weekly medical specialist clinic, the weekly hyperthyroidism treatment and the hemangioma application treatment in the Wan Jiang hospital. Since 2011, the Department of nuclear medicine has diagnosed more than 3 patients in and outside the province, ranking the top in Dongguan.
In recent years, the general department has published more than 10 papers in various medical journals and academic conferences, and declared 2 provincial scientific research projects at the municipal level. It receives and trains a number of workers, trainees and medical image interns every year.
